Marjorie’s debut novel titled, “When the Men Were Gone” is based on the true story of Tylene Wilson, a woman who coached football in Brownwood, Texas, during World War II. The novel is historical fiction and has a deep backstory of war and sacrifice. Marjorie connects her life experience as a Dallas Cowboys beat writer with that of Tylene, who had a wonderful shared love of football and baseball with her father, just as Marjorie had.
